Abu Dis, Capital of Palestine?
February 6, 2018
by Magnum Photographers
Abu Dis is a suburb east of Jerusalem separated from the Holy City by an 8 meters tall wall. The idea of giving it to the Palestinians to use as their capital has been around since the 1993 Oslo Accords, and Donald Trump is rumored to be the latest to support the project, hoping that it will allow him to strike the “deal of the century”. On the other hand, Palestinians claim they will settle for nothing less than Jerusalem. Magnum photographers have photographed in the suburb on numerous occasions.
